Finally!

The semester is O-VER. It still feels so great. I still can't quite believe it. So to celebrate I found an awesome deal for a pedicure on groupon. It was soooooo awesome. I can't even tell you. So. Nice. Now I have lovely mint green toes. You should go get one. I still can't believe that I survived 18 credits. 8 classes. Lots of homework. And finished off with some pretty darn good grades if I do say so myself!!!!!!!!!! That deserves a few exclamation points.

There has been so many Christmas treats. Officially in Christmas treat overload. BUT that doesn't mean I can't still make a Christmas treat myself. So I was making it. And I was coming to the last part. Where you make the chocolate and pour it on top. And it seized. Oh my gosh. Has this ever happened to you. You do something stupid like deciding to put gel food coloring or corn syrup in your beautifully smooth melting chocolate and all of a sudden it becomes this big ugly lump. This actually has happened more than once today. To quote my roommate just now "Don't forget. The same DAM thing happened to Saren this morning." (She was speaking in the third person) I might be laughing a lot right now. She fell victim to the gel food coloring mess. Apparently anything with water or moisture will make the chocolate seize. I didn't take this picture but this is what it looks like when your chocolate seizes.

That right there is some bad chocolate. So tragic. So ugly. But fear not! Google to the rescue!! I googled how to fixed ruined chocolate and google told me to put vegetable shortening in it. And it. Was. A. Christmas. Miracle. Christmas miracle. It fixed it and was awesome.

Another awesome thing. I GOT NETFLIX. The free trial. I thought it was a good idea for the break. So what is the first thing you watch when you have Netflix? Well the Justin Bieber documentary Never Say Never of course. It really was good. If you haven't seen it I would highly recommend it. Then you can watch a highly cheesy Christmas film with a guy that looks like Captain America only kinda sleezy looking. And listen to more awesome quotes from the roommate.

Just a few more days.....

My Thanksgiving break...

Was great.
Worked on Wednesday for only a little bit.
There was food. Lots of food. It was all delicious.
There was also pizza. On Saturday. Which was also delicious.
Awesome mom bought me groceries.
Suits! I love that show. Watched all 12 episodes of the first season in two days. So great.
Ate lots of cookie dough on Friday.
Did lots of homework. The Spanish essays of death are officially all over and done with.
I had this extremely unrealistic goal of getting all homework for the semester done. Didn't happen. Like i said. Unrealistic. Maybe if the essay of death hadn't of been in the way. hahaha. unrealistic.
The family is awesome.
Learned you can can chicken and meat. Like in a pressure cooker. And it tastes good. Still looks gross though.
Turkey noodle soup and salad with Olive Garden dressing for Sunday dinner.
So thankful for lots of things.
Thanksgiving break was great!!

so excited.

So I've decided that I really like surfing movies. I've never seen a bad surfing movie. I can actually only think of two at the moment but I really like both of them. So that's why I want to go see Chasing Mavericks. Cause it's about surfing. So it's gotta be good right? Go youtube the trailers, there are a couple I think. Or better yet, go watch the movie!

Also. I thought this was really good. I don't think I understood it all. I could probably watch it again. But I liked what she had to say and how she said it. It's 18 minutes. So find yourself some 18 minutes to sit down and watch it.

I am so excited for Thanksgiving!!!!!!! I was sitting at work. Scanning documents. Typing in A numbers. And I just got really excited. I love the feeling of the holidays. You know. That feeling. Of wintery family together sitting around the table talking and laughing holidayness. That feeling. It's a good one.

So this one time...

Oh hey there. It's me. Not doing homework. It's just soooooooooooooooooo hard to do something when its not due for 2 more weeks. Even if it's a 10 page paper that i NEED to be working on right now. Cause i will (already am) going crazy with all the homework that I have. Ya know? It's just soooooooo hard to find the motivation.

How was your Halloween. Really mine wasn't to exciting. I watched Rear Window. Alfred Hitchcock? Anyone? It was ok....It's like the original Disturbia. Which I actually happen to like. Oh and pizza. Little Ceasers is always great.

I haven't eaten dinner yet. I'm kinda hungry. The two pumpkin eggo waffles don't count that I had earlier. So frozen kit-kats it is.

Oh yeah. Rememer that one time I went to New York less than two weeks before a giant hurricane came through?? Well, it was awesome.

We ate lots of good food and did lots of exciting things. The 9/11 memorial was really neat. I'm so glad we got to go see it. There is two pools like that were both of the towers were.

Can I just say this strawberry guava french toast was amazing. A-ma-zing. So delicious. It had cornflakes on the outside and the guava sauce on top was probably my favorite part.

I got to see Mirna! She is from Puerto Rico. She was in my first and last area and she served a mini mission so we were actually companions for a week. It was so awesome to see her. And we got to see the Central Park Zoo for free!!

Times Square is always so cool. And they are doing stuff to St. Patrick's Cathedral but it was still cool.

And then we were really really exhausted from all the craziness of one of the coolest Fall Break's ever!!! Then we came home and I was still really tired but it was so very worth it!

falling leaves.

So I kind of wish I had a house. With a tree. So that I could rake up the leaves. Or maybe just a rake so that I could rake up someone elses leaves.

Last night I went to bed at 10. (and the night before too. Still recovering from New York City) But for some reason I woke up was pretty sure that it was around 6 am and that I would have to get up soon. I almost got out of bed. I looked at my clock and it was 1:00 something and I was SOO confused. I looked again because I was worried/convinced that it was wrong. Then I tried to see if Saren was in her bed. I couldn't really tell on account of the fact that I am kinda blind. I decided that she was. And that I should believe the clock and go back to bed. Then I was SOO excited to go back to sleep cause it was only 1ish. Usually when that happens it's like 5:47 and I have like 17 minutes to sleep. Which is the worst.

Oh yeah. I went to New York City! I will have to tell you all about it later. Cause I am determined to get all my homework done. Just know that it was totally awesome.

Thanks for listening about my strange sleeping habits. Cause yes. I kinda feel like that sorta thing is a habit. I am always waking up and thinking I should get out of bed for some reason and almost doing it before stopping myself. Or being paranoid about the time. Strange much? Yup.

Teaching Philosophy

One of the main reasons that I wanted to become a teacher was really because I like to work with kids. I like interacting with them and help them to gain new knowledge. One of the things that I like best is when you able to see that a child has really learned something or grasped a concept or learned to love something new that they never knew existed.

My plan for teacher is to try to help the kids learn something new that will be valuable to them in their everyday lives. As a geography teacher I want to be able to teach them about people and places and help them to think outside of their own lives or cities and how people are affected in different ways in different areas of the world. I hope that they are able to grasp the importance of learning and understanding new people and places and how it relates in their own lives.

donde esta la biblioteca??

Can I just say that I am glad that I have never had to learn Japanese?? ok. thank you.

I am glad that I have never had to learn Japanese. Nor do I plan on ever learning Japanese. I am perfectly content with English and Spanish.

You should all go download the free iTunes song from A Fine Frenzy. It's a good one.

Also...

A few days ago I checked a book out from the library! Like the university library. So exciting. I also thought it was fun to go find the book. Like more fun than should be granted such an activity. Way more interesting than looking on the internet for stuff. Sad part. Pretty sure I left a paper that I needed at the check out desk. Sad day.

Also. I do not like the word activity. I can't ever spell it right. Especially when its activities. I had to write that word a bunch for a test I took today and pretty much spelled it wrong every single time.

Also. I'm feeling very much like today should be Friday. Don't get your hopes up. It's not. But almost.

Also. Did I tell you my brother is getting married? That's exciting right? I think it is. Sarah is awesome and I am so excited for them. (Yes. Her name is Sarah. Crazy right?) Daniel is pretty cool too I guess.

Also. It felt like fall today. As in a little to cold for my taste....So I celebrated by having tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch!!! I am pretty sure I could eat those 2 things every day and not ever get tired of them. So delicious.

Also. I am going to New York City over fall break!!!! 2 weeks from today. Awesome.

Had to do it.

Oh hey there. So I just got really sidetracked in the doing of the homework so I thought I might as well document it. So. It just happened like 7 minutes ago and I don't even remember. Ohhhhh I do. So I was watching a movie on Youtube and the ad was for One Direction's new song! That's right. Totally a fan of One Direction. So awesome. I tried to buy the song on itunes but they don't have it....sad. Don't worry I posted it so you don't even have to search for it. I'd have to say that I think the lyrics are kind of hilarious. Ok. I really have to get back to finding information on the indians of Cuba pre-Columbus. I know you're jealous.

just taking a break....

from all the insane homework that I have.

Oh. My. Goodness. SCHOOL HAS STARTED WITH A VENGEANCE. I won't go into particulars. But. Wow. And this stuff like actually matters. Ya know? Like learning how to teach and stuff that is important to know and I will need in my career. (not that the other stuff wasn't i guess it just didn't feel like at the time. plus it was separated by taking 2 years off of school and I officially remember like 13% or less of that sutff.) This stuff feels legit. It's important. So I feel like I need to read the whole chapter and actually comprehend the stuff that I am learning.

Work. Yes. I do that. Found a job. Well it found me. It's nice.

Tumbling? My PE class. Holy oh my gosh. I LOVE IT. Minus the fact that it is officially kicking my butt. Like hardcore. Every time I come home something else hurts. Today its the tops of my arms and shoulders that hurt. I didn't even go last Thursday cause I am pretty sure I did something weird to one of my stomach muscles. It was feeling better so I went today and it kinda hurts again....so. But I love it. So hopefully I won't incur to many actual injuries and I can work my way through the pain...And that sounded ridiculous but its true. But its sooooo very much fun.

Labor Day? I know you're all dying to know. It went good. Ate one of the best hamburgers of my life. I don't know why. It was just so delicious and juicy and cheesy and amazing. I want another one now. That is a picture at the park and I thought it would be good to put that up today.Yeah?

Hooper Tomato Days.

Hooper Tomato Days!!!! Labor Day weekend!!!!

This weekend is Tomato Days. It really is a very exciting thing to go to. You can go to the rodeo. Which I have never actually been too. Or dog races. Which I have never been to either. Although I imagine them being entertaining. Or go to the baby contests. Like Miss Pink Tomato. Which I have never been to either. But babies are cute. And there is good food. Which I have eaten. And games and booths and all that good stuff that is at celebrations like this. And the best thing of all. I will be there!!! ha ha ......Just kidding..... But I will be there helping the parentals all day long. I think that it will be fun and you should all come!!!! The end.

camping awesomeness.

Well the great Stringham Family Camping Adventure of 2012 went pretty well. These trips are really never boring...well most of the time.

Thursday. We left. Drove up into the mountains. All the good camping spots were gone. We got the last one. It was kind of crappy to be perfectly honest. Like super crappy. No trees. It was hot. bleh. We didn't spend to much time there. We got all set up and did camping things. The stars were soooo pretty. There were so many. We saw 6 satellites and one shooting star. The dogs came too. First ever camping trip. They were kinda freaking out.

Friday. We did campingish things in the morning. That afternoon the parentals had to go back home for some stuff. So the children went back to Logan and went to the movie. Nice camping trip huh? We saw the last Batman movie.....I've still got mixed feelings. It was creepy and Christian Bale has a nice face. The parentals came back and we went out for pizza and drove back up the canyon and slept in our tent. Oh it rained like crazy that evening and some of our stuff got wet. boo.

Saturday. We drove up to Bear Lake and got to play on the beach and went boating on my uncles boat that day. It was really fun. My other uncles family was all up there so it was fun to hang out with them. I love boating. Let it be known. I like to kneeboard. I wanted to try wake boarding but didn't get a chance. The little brother post gallbladder/appendix surgery gave it a try but was still to sore. But he did that surfing thing you do on boats.

Sunday. I left and went to church. Yay for camping again. Then I headed back up and we chilled and made tin foil dinners. Did you know if you put cream of chicken soup in them it makes them super yummy. I didn't know till Sunday.

Monday. Packed up and went home. Overall kinda crazy but still a great time with the fam. My family is great and they're pretty darn fun to hang out it with if I do say so myself.

Also I just saw We Bought A Zoo. SUCH a good show. Sad but funny yet touching and just great. I have also decided that I should start writing movie reviews. As you can see from the two that I just wrote and the other one I recently wrote that I'm just super good at describing why I like or didn't like the movie. So that is going to be my new profession.

Seriously I love it.

Have you been watching the Olympics?!?! I have!!! Seriously I love it. Swimming, gymnastics, rowing, volleyball, kayaking, tennis, speed walking, synchronized swimming....I could go on. The Olympics are great. I have watched a lot of some and a little bit of others but it's all awesome. Makes me want to cry. I have been thinking about what Olympic sport I will be involving my children in when they are like two and a half so they can make it to the Olympics...I'll let you know when I decide.

Also. Step Up Revolution. Anyone? Came out July 27? Were you there? Cause I was! Seriously I love it. It was great. I thought it was so much better than the third one. The dancing was awesome. The story was just good enough to enjoy when they weren't dancing. Which was a lot. So good.

Also. The Hobbit? Seriously I love it. Anyone hear they are now going to be making three movies instead of two? In the very little research that I conducted I decided that it's true. They claim its not all for the money but that they have done a lot of back story of things aren't necessarily in the book but in other books that Tolkien has written. Which. Whatever. I'm okay with that. BUT. I have decided that I want to try to read The Hobbit and all The Lord of the Rings books before school starts??? Yeah? I have read The Hobbit twice and got all the way The Lord of the Rings until about 3/4 of the way through the last book....... Really not sure why I stopped. I was just done. So we'll see how that goes.

I'm pretty sure there was something else not related to movies or television...but its late so it will have to wait for another day.

done and DONE.

DONE. 2 of 2. Finished.

I won't be at all surprised if I failed miserably.

Currently de-stressing with some very loud music. love it.

almost there....

One down. One to go.

Just too the Geog praxis test. Feel pretty good about it. Spanish is on Wed...

Few lingering questions....

What is an isthmus and where the crap is Bangladesh?

Rain, rain, please please stay.

I LOVE THE RAIN. so much. And also cause it means that my apartment is currently under 80 degrees at 5 in the afternoon. Heaven. Normally its closer 90.

Saw Rock of Ages last night. Do not, I repeat, do not go see this movie. It was terrible in every sense of the word. Lots of good music but so not worth it. I had just seen the commercial awhile ago but never heard how it actually was. no. bad. awful. stupid.

I went fishing yesterday!! And caught a fish!!!!! I went up to Tony Grove with my padre and brother. The weather was sooooooo nice. The temperature was perfect and it was kinda overcast. I could have sat in that canoe all day. I gutted two of the fish. I'd have to say it was pretty hilarious. I'm couldn't really tell you why I was laughing so hysterically. Cause it was gross and....that was my way of dealing with the gross bloody guts and everything? I guess? Kind of amusing. Then we came back and ate the fish. Yum.

I am speaking in church tomaowuwowoeirw. I have been attempting to write my talk for the majority of the day............so in preparation I found this video that I love. (which does not have anything to do with my talk or the preparation thereof...............) But I love the song and it's cool.

Operation Vacation Guatemala.

So...remember that one time that I went to Guatemala and it was awesome? It was pretty much one of thee coolest and funnest things I have ever had the chance to do! I would highly recommend it folks. So here is a more or less brief explanation of what I did with a few photos. (hopefully different from FB.)

Day 1. On the plane. Bought a book at the airport...it was kinda strange.
Day 2. Antigua, Guatemala. Old city therefore lots of cool old things. And hair things! Look how many there are to choose from!
Day 3. Spent most of the day at the MTC in Guate the mission comp had to work so I just hung out. Oh and the day before I got to see several missionaries that I served with including another companion! It was hard to get a good pic of the whole temple.
Day 4. Sunday. Father's Day. Excellent home cooked Guate food (SO sad I forgot to take pics of the food!) and a visit to a market place to try more awesome Guate food. I love black frijoles! (Ok. Maybe I took a few pics of food...)
Day 5. The beach. Need I say more? Yes. I need to say more. Hammocks. Black sand. The ocean was sooo warm. I was not expecting that. And perfect weather, and a really bad sunburn.
Day 6. Traveling. Temple. Awesome hot springs where we spent the night.

Day 7. Lake Atitlan. Pana. Traveling back home.
Day 8. We went to see a relief map (I think that's what there called?) of Guatemala. It was cool see the layout and mountains and all that business. Next we went to the mall. It was a nice mall. Saw Madagascar 3 in Espanol. (we had a 5 year old with us okay? it was still good though. and during the week the movie is only like 4 dollars there.) Ate a chocobanano. Frozen banana dipped in chocolate. Delicious. Yes I know we have those here but they have little places all over with a freezer full of different kinds of frozen fruit that you can have dipped in chocolate. Kinda awesome.

Day 9. Traveling. Saw cool ruins, a banana farm, big river, and stayed at the coolest place. It had a ping pong table, a lagoon swimming type pond place, hammocks!!!!! oh gosh. Let's stop a minute and ponder about the awesomeness of sitting in a hammock and relaxing for a very long time. mmm so wonderful. The food was way good, and cheap. My favorite was the cinnamon rolls. Not exactly the same as here but delicious none the less. And don't forget about the mosquito nets!

Day 10. Tikal. Lots of ruins. Humid. Hot and sweaty but still amazing to see so many pyramid type ruins and buildings and statues, and so many big, tall stairs to climb up. They must have been in pretty good shape back then. We spent the night again at the same awesome place. It rained like nobody's business that night.

Day 11. Traveling back home. Stopped at Castillo San Felipe. Super crazy humid hot that day. And we stopped and ate these amazing tortillas. (Mine was a little smaller than this but I thought the bigger one was more impressive.)

Day 12. Thankful to have made it back in one piece. The driving there is crazy people. Really crazy. We had pretty much seen everything that was close by. We decided not to go to the capital to see the capital building and all that cause there were protests or something going on. And we didn't feel like protesting or dying or anything like that. So we went back to Antigua with her sister and kids and her other sister and I bought a few more things and got another braid and ate good food.

Day 13. Leaving :( We went to this yummy place for breakfast. Back to the airport. Security check, getting frisked. I had to go through the creepy body scanner things both times on the way there and back. I got all 3 seats to myself! Hung out in the airport and back to Salt Lake!

So if you made it all the way down here I hope you all enjoyed the trip as much as I did!! I'm so glad that I got to go!!

Wednesday, June 27, 2012

Orange ya gonna say orange again?

Ok. So I have never liked oranges. Until recently. When I started liking them. I prefer the little oranges. You know, the baby ones. Clementines. That's the name. Yes. I like those, they are tasty. But I like the big normal oranges too. Something that I never knew was that big oranges have little tiny oranges inside of them, on top (or bottom?). Like this...

See? See the little orange inside of big orange. It is. SO. CREEPY. I cannot explain it. But that little orange is hands down one of the creepiest things I have ever encountered. I have no idea why its creepy. IT JUST IS. The fact that there is small weird baby orange growing inside of your orange. Like in that one show where they lady is convinced that her twin was growing inside of her neck. In My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Yeah. You know what I'm talking about. It's creepy like that. And I don't like it. Not one bit. It makes me want to throw the orange at the window. And it doesn't even taste good. ew. So grossed out. I don't know if anyone else shares in the creepy baby orange growing inside of the normal orange feeling. But now you know. Now you can always think of me when you eat your oranges.

Officially unemployed...

for ONE day and I am already CRAZY bored out of my mind.

But so far there has been one bright spot in my day. Well I guess I could say two.

1- mailed off my geography project. Done. Finished.

2- I ate a corn dog for lunch!!!!! It was delicious thank you very much. I have been wanting a corn dog for quite some time and I thought today sounded like the perfect day to eat one. So I did. And I loved it.

Also her are some sunsets for you to enjoy. They are both from the same spot on different days in Boqueron and I love them both a lot. These are from my first area when we lived like 5 minutes from the ocean!! Loved it. BY THE WAY. I HAVE BEEN HOME FOR ONE YEAR. On May 27 I have been officially home for a year. I didn't feel like writing anything a few days ago so sorry. Just know that it was amazing and I can't believe that the time has gone by SO quickly. So quickly. I think about Puerto Rico and the people I met there every day. I can't imagine how my life would be right now if I had not served a mission!! The end.

rain and graduation.

ITS RAINING OUTSIDE!!!!! I am kinda a fan of the rain minus the being cold part. Which I am right now. Cold. Very cold. And not doing my homework. Cause, yes its summer and I have homework.

The little brother graduated. From high school. So crazy.

Can you believe it?? Really I'm still not sure how this happened. I mean look at how tiny he used to be! Not so much anymore. But he's still pretty awesome. Congratulations!

exciting things in the summer.

This is way more entertaining then the real music video. I suggest that you watch it right now.

SUMMER!!!!! O.M.G.

I love it. So far this summer I have played tennis, gone to the park, ridden bikes, gone hiking, gone to the movies, eaten out, gone to work, field trips, read books, and studied (a little) for my tests!!

Yay for summer.

Oh. One more exciting thing. My little brother. He's cool. He won FIRST place in the BYU invitational decathlon. (don't know the official name...) FIRST PLACE. There were 18 boys. 10 events. FIRST PLACE. Very exciting.

Next week....back to class. But only for the week. And hopefully it includes lots of field trips. Cause that will be much more exciting that sitting in class all day.

Also. Go to the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy. It was SO. COOL. Don't mind that the only people you will see there will be pregnant mothers with there small toddlers. It's to cool. GO anyways. Even if you are childless. I got to touch a sting ray!! And there was penguins, jellyfish, little sharks, and more awesome stuff. So very cool. That's where I went on the middle school field trip. ps. Here are a few pictures. Sorry I didn't have a real camera or a fancy iPhone or something.

May the odds be ever in your favor...

Finals week...

So I have a final tomrowm that I need to study for. So naturally I was drawn to the Pottermore site that I have been hearing so much about and joined! I am MidnightNiffler290273283. I think the site is kinda confusing. And it looks like you have to go through a bunch of stuff to unlock things and blah blah blah. So we'll see how it goes.... I want a wand! I liked that it just gave you a choices for your name and wasn't forced to think up something creative on my own. Cause I'm terrible at that. Or maybe it wasn't for my (lack of) creative benefit and more so that everyone wasn't HarryPotter5898657752 and Voldermort29984464823 right?? I dunno. Whatever. My name is awesome and I feel very privileged though to now be apart of Pottermore. Congratulations. To me. Go MidnightNiffler.

Also. Can someone please tell me where I can find good audio books? In Spanish. That are cheap. Please. I need your help.

la primavera.

Um. It's Spring!!! Have you noticed?? Seriously I love it. I do not love the cold. And I love that it is SPRING. Like that it as been raining and not super hot but just totally...spring. Love it. It seems to already be warming up lots but I'll take what I can get! I wish I could have taken a picture of the smell of the those trees. They are in my front yard. There are three of them. Stop by sometime and smell them. It's so lovely. And all the tulips! Those are at the Logan Temple. I'm a fan. I love tulips. They might be my favorite flower.

Also. LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL. I know that this is extremely uncool cause pretty much everyone and their dog is already done with school and finals. Up here we're still in the last week of class and then finals week is next week. SO CLOSE.

This is my foot. At Tattoo Tuesday. Henna. The glitter stuff came off but the sun is still there! I think my mom thought I was strange. I love it though! I couldn't decide where to put it. Cause if would have got one on my arm all the middle schoolers would have gone crazy and thought I was...I don't know. I 'm pretty sure there was something else really important that I needed to say..........I have been applying for jobs!! Aren't you proud of me! It's only April! I am being proactive! Pray for me! (no seriously. Cause I need a job this summer.) Hopefully something will turn up. I feel like it will. Pretty sure that wasn't the important piece of information that you needed to know but I'll just be done now.

I love lunch carton milk.

So I have a journal. Like a real journal. A little book with lined pages that I write in and nobody gets to read. I got it for my birthday. I never ever ever wrote in a journal before my mission. During the mission I was an awesome journal writer. Then I came home and nothing. So the journal for the birthday. I have only written in it a few times. But seriously I love it. I mean this ole blog thing is a form of a journal. But a real journal. So much cooler. Just sayin'

Spring Break # 2 was so lovely. But I am glad to back at work and having something to do during the day. And. Today they are hold some sort of Republican thing at the school. They were practically stealing the table underneath the pear eating children. (Yes we had pears today. They were yummy. I ate one.) BUT. I totally saw Orrin Hatch. Yup.

To end this boringness that is my rambling I am going to go return the shoes. Sigh. I know it's sad. But it has to be done. I just know that I won't wear them enough and feel ridiculous the whole time. So much for embracing....

Spring Break #2

Hey! Who watched General Conference? me! Who loved General Conference? me! Who saw David Archuleta in the MTC choir? Not me!!! I was watching the whole time. And I missed it. Sigh. Conference was really good though.

So I have a confession to make. I like shoes. Like. A lot. I love shoes. So much. I have another weakness. For high heeled shoes. I don't usually make it a practice of wearing them cause I kinda feel like a giant sometimes, usually, all the time. I wore some for the first time in like 3 years last Sunday. But I bought some today. Wedges. First pair ever. I am not sure how I feel about them. I might return them. My mom said I should just embrace it and enjoy it. Just because I'm tall doesn't mean I can't wear high heels. So. We'll see. I might return them...or maybe I'll just embrace it.

Oh and....Spring break #2!!!!! I don't have work for a whole entire week and I'm so excited I can hardly stand it I don't even know what I am gonna do with myself cause I am not gonna have to work at all and I guess I'll just have to read and do my homework and do....stuff. And I can't wait!!!!!!

Oh and P.S. I bought a plane ticket to Guatemala this week. Cause I'm cool like that.

Looky here.

So I'm at the library. Doing homework ie blogging, surfing the net, music video watching, email checking, people watching, and pondering the meaning of life in general. Very productive I think. All I have to do is write one silly little paragraph about why something is a good thing. Only in my opnion (one of those darn words I will never. ever. be able to spell correctly). I don't t think its a good thing cause I don't think it works. I would tell you what its about but it'd be so boring that it will be more interesting to keep it a mystery.

Someone just walked up the stairs with a Hunger Games shirt on. I have officially purchased my ticket for the Friday night 9:40 showing. We went to go get  tickets to the midnight showing earlier this week and the girl so (not) kindly (snot-ily) told us that those sold out in the last week of February. Geez. Sorry.

And the last item on my list today. Music!! My new favorite boy band. One Direction. The are British. Go listen. I promise you'll love it. And the other. Who I literally just discovered seconds (ok minutes) ago on someone elses blog. Brooke Fraser. She's great. All three songs that I have listened to I have loved.

Ok. Me voy.

Spring Break...

HAS OFFICIALLY STARTED!!!!!

Well REALLY it started at like 9:43 when I finished my Spanish test. WHICH. I totally ACED because she let us use our notes.

And the Utah Symphony came to the middle school today. I got to see BOTH performances. Lucky me. I feel so cultured.

In honor of Spring Break I went to the library yesterday. I checked out like five book. I didn't even realize I had that many till I was checking them out. (Just because it's spring break doesn't mean I won't be up in Logan since I have to work since I need me some DINERO.) I am going to Park City for 2 days though so that should be just super a lot of fun. (Have I ever told you how much I LOVE Park City? I won't start now. Just know. Love)

So yes. I am now officially breaking. Reading. Park Citying. Sleeping. Enjoying. LOVING SPRING BREAK.

P.S.I watched Footloose last night!!!!

ok. gotta go now.

ohmygosh ohmygosh. I just watched the new Hunger Games trailer. It had a lot of the same stuff but there was some new stuff too! Oh gosh I am so excited for the movie. It actually looks like its going to be good and go with the book pretty good. Hi. I'm a nerd. Seriously so excited. I got the chills while I was watching it. Saren (the emotional roommate) she did too.

So last weekend was big people. Real big. Wendover!!! Yes. I took the FUN BUS to Wendover. Bus drive was awesome. The hostess lady was hilarious. I have some pictures but I have just discovered that my computer doesn't have the space for the camera chip....(this computer just keep getting better and better...) But go look at Jamil's Facebook. She has the pictures there and they are awesome. I would keep explaining the awesomeness of it but I just don't feel like it would do it justice. So go enjoy and the pictures can tell the story.

Today is also Valentine's Day. The middle schoolers had a dance. I was very jealous that I couldn't go cause they actually play good songs the whole time unlike the college dances where I would say its like 4 dumb songs to every 1 good song. Sigh. But its probably a good thing since I would probably look kind of ridiculous dancing since half the people don't seem to know if I am an employee or student.

Groundhogs Day

Or in other words....My birthday!!!

Yup its today.

Today though I competed in my first ever race. Well it wasn't really a competition but it was legit. It was timed and we had numbers and got medals and there was even a drink station halfway through!! It was a 1k around the school. My time was 10 minutes 59 seconds. (We couldn't run in the hallways) Not that I ran outside though. haha. yup. Why would I ever run?

There was something that I think I wanted to complain about but I guess I'll spare you for the moment.

I just saw that there is supposed to be 6 more weeks of winter. I have no comment.

But I was so excited that it was still light at 6!!! It made me happy.

Holy Smokes!

Hey there folks. So my internet is being kind of stupid. Or rather. My computer. The internet appears to work just fine in most locations. Except my apartment. Which is kind of an important place for it to be working. Yeah. I know. SOOOOooooo annoying. It worked for a few days when I first came back up to school. Then nothing. Then I went home for a bit. It worked. Then back to Logan. It works for like 30 minutes. Then nothing. I have now been internetting for an hour. Still working....so we'll see. It makes me very angry.

Also. Macbooks are very confusing. The middle school uses them. And it always takes me forever to figure stuff out. Sorry Macbookers. Not a huge fan.

Also. SOPA? I had never heard of it till today. But I do know the Google blacked out there logo and I could not use Wikipedia today. (Is that bad that I have the middle schoolers look up info on Wikipedia?) haha. Anyways.

It's Janurary. It's cold. It's snowing.

I am kind of sick of my music. I need a new song to listen to.

I got a planner for Christmas. It makes me happy.

I need to take more pictures in my life. I don't think have taken more than like 3 in the last seven months.

Well I guess I better be done with this before the computer decides that it no longer wants to let me be on the internet.

Lovely.

So my break was just as lovely as could be expected. It was so nice to not have to work or think about school. And be able to read. I haven't read as much as a wanted too but I have been doing other awesome things so its okay.

Christmas was really a very excellent day. I think I mostly loved it all because I haven't been home for Christmas for the past two Christmases. Of course I don't have any pictures to show you wonderful people cause the camera was nestled safely in my room for the entire break. On Christmas Eve we don't really have a set tradition I'd say. We do different stuff it just depends I guess. The one tradition we do have though is bean dip!!! We always always eat seven layer bean dip for dinner on Christmas Eve. This year we went with my grandma and went and looked at the lights around town and then out at Willard Bay. Christmas morning was also lovely. (Everything is just so lovely today.) We always always have orange cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning. So very yummy.

I have been reading!!!! Yay!!!! Yesterday I read the second Hunger Games book. I honestly couldn't even tell you what it was called. It was so good though. I sat and read the entire thing from cover to cover yesterday after work. Now I need thee third one! But I have heard some things about the third one....so we'll see.

Also. I am reading another trilogy. Mistborn. By Brandon Sanderson. I have a problem. So I am totally going to ruin some things here so if you plan on reading them stop reading now. They have been pretty good so far. I have just started the third one. But people. Come on. You know that doesn't mean anything. I always read ahead to see what happens. (I don't care what you say. It's so much better that way.) THEY DIE. He kills of the two MAIN characters of the book. I've got. LOTS. of problems with this. I'm sorry but I don't want to invest all this time and energy reading and getting attached to these characters and then you KILL them. It's a BOOK. So whatever moral of the story or sacrifice or whatever the crap it is your trying to convey can be done with keeping all the main characters alive. Such as Harry Potter. Yes, friends and loved ones die but HARRY doesn't DIE. I'm kind of upset. But I'll probably read it anyway. Cause I need to know why in the world they have to die. Even though I know it was totally unnecessary.

So I was telling you about my break. Know that it was good. It was SOOooo hard to drive back up to Logan to go back to work. But its okay cause there is still a few more days before school starts.
